​Samsun Bike Tour Program
Day 1: Atakum - Samsun Center
Our tour begins with settling into our hotel in Atakum. Participants meet at the hotel at the specified time and settle into their rooms.
After settling into their rooms, bikes are adjusted according to the participants' height, weight and riding level. Information is provided about the necessary rules throughout the tour.
We set off from Atakum beach with our bikes and head towards Samsun city center. Atakum beach is famous for its long coastline and beaches. We enjoy the sea and sand by cycling along the beach.
We visit the Amazon Village on the way. This village, full of representative statues of Amazon women and reliefs reflecting their daily lives, is an educational and fun stop for children and families.
Our next stop is Amisos Hill. This hill, which can be reached by cable car, offers magnificent views of Samsun. We visit the tumuli and burial chambers and learn about the history of the region.
We take a short break at Lake Sevgi and the Zoo. This area is a fun and educational stop for children.

We visit the Canik Toy Museum. This museum, filled with approximately 1000 toys manufactured in the 18th and 19th centuries, offers a fascinating experience for children.

We visit the Kuva-i Milliye Museum. This museum, where important decisions of the War of Independence were made, provides children with historical awareness and teaches national values.

Our last stop is the Bandırma Ferry Museum. This museum, which is an exact replica of the ferry on which Mustafa Kemal Atatürk came to Samsun, offers an educational and inspiring experience for children.

At the end of the day, we return to our hotel. Dinner and rest time at the hotel.

​Day 2: Kızılırmak Delta Bird Sanctuary

After breakfast at our hotel, we set off with our transfer vehicle to Kızılırmak Delta Bird Sanctuary.

When we reach Kızılırmak Delta Bird Sanctuary, our bike tour starts here. Delta is a wide area on a completely flat area and offers ideal conditions for cycling.

We bike along the delta all day long and observe various bird species from bird observation towers. Delta is home to 15 of 24 bird species that are under threat of extinction and a large portion of other bird species in Turkey. We explore the natural beauties along the delta and take a break at picnic areas. These areas offer a peaceful environment intertwined with nature.

At the end of the day, we return to our hotel with our transfer vehicle. Dinner and rest time at the hotel.

​Day 3: Ayvacık Dam and Tekkeköy Caves

After breakfast at our hotel, we arrive at Ayvacık Dam with our transfer vehicle. Our bike tour starts from Ayvacık Dam. We pedal along with the magnificent views of the dam and pass through the surrounding villages. We can observe the natural beauties and agricultural areas in these villages.

We head towards Tekkeköy Caves from Ayvacık Dam. Tekkeköy Caves is one of the oldest settlements in the Black Sea region and is also known as the Archeology Valley. We learn the history of the region by exploring the caves and archeological remains.

At the end of the day, we return to our hotel with our transfer vehicle. Dinner and rest time at the hotel.

Bandırma Ferry is an exact replica of the ferry on which Mustafa Kemal Atatürk came to Samsun. The museum is a great place to tell children about the beginning of the War of Independence and Atatürk's arrival in Samsun. The objects and photographs exhibited in the museum can increase children's interest in history.


Samsun City Museum:

Samsun City Museum is a museum that tells the history, cultural and geographical structure of the city. Children can learn about Samsun's past here and have fun with interactive exhibitions.


Sevgi Lake and Zoo:

Sevgi Lake is a great place for children and families with walking paths, cafes and restaurants. The zoo is the largest zoo in the Black Sea region and allows children to see and learn about various animals.

 

Canik Toy Museum:

Canik Toy Museum is filled with approximately 1000 toys manufactured in the 18th and 19th centuries. This museum, which is the largest in Turkey and the third largest in the world, offers a fascinating experience for children.

 

Atakum:

Atakum is one of the most popular and modern districts of Samsun. Atakum is famous for its long coastline and beaches. You can ride a bike along the coast and enjoy the sea. There are also playgrounds and parks for children. Atakum is full of various cafes and restaurants. Atakum is a perfect destination for children and families with its modern structure, natural beauties and various activities.


Kuva-i Milliye Museum:

Kuva-i Milliye Museum is one of the places where important decisions of the War of Independence were made. The museum complex consists of a lodge building, a memorial house, a dioramic museum and various courtyards. The museum was designed as a thematic museum reflecting the spirit and history of the War of Independence. There are 7 wax statues inside and visitors are informed with digital presentations. The museum is full of important documents, photographs and objects related to the War of Independence. Kuva-i Milliye Museum teaches children the importance of the War of Independence and Turkey's struggle for independence. The museum attracts children's attention with interactive exhibitions and digital presentations. In this way, children have the opportunity to learn while having fun.

 

Samsun Atatürk House:

Samsun Atatürk House is an exact replica of the house where Mustafa Kemal Atatürk was born in Thessaloniki. This house has great historical importance as the place where Atatürk stayed when he came to Samsun. Documents and photographs from the War of Independence are also exhibited. The objects and documents exhibited in the Atatürk House develop children's visual and auditory learning skills. In this way, children understand and remember historical events better.


Amisos Hill:

Amisos Hill takes its name from Amisos, one of the old names of Samsun. This hill dates back to 3000 B.C. It is a site dating back to the 3rd century. There are two important tumuli (burial mounds) on Amisos Hill: the North Tumulus and the South Tumulus. The North Tumulus is 8 meters high and 3 meters in diameter and consists of three tomb chambers. The South Tumulus is 15 meters high and 40 meters in diameter and has a two-room tomb structure. These tomb chambers contain remains thought to belong to high-ranking administrators of the Pontus Kingdom. During the excavations carried out on Amisos Hill, valuable items and burials known as the Amisos Treasure were found. Amisos Hill offers magnificent views of Samsun. This hill, which can be reached by cable car, offers visitors the opportunity to watch the unique views of the city and the Black Sea. There are also walking paths and viewing terraces on the hill.

Amisos Hill teaches children about ancient times and raises historical awareness. In this way, children learn about past civilizations and cultural heritage.

 

Tekkeköy Caves:

Tekkeköy Caves are one of the oldest settlements in the Black Sea Region. These caves are known as one of the oldest settlements where people lived between 10,000 and 60,000 BC.

As a result of archaeological excavations, findings from the Hittite and Old Bronze Age periods were unearthed. Tekkeköy Caves attract attention not only with their history but also with their natural beauty. The caves are located along the valley irrigated by Fındıcak Creek and Çınarlı Creek. In addition to being an open-air museum, this area also offers visitors the opportunity to have a pleasant time with its picnic and recreation areas.

Archaeological findings and caves increase children's interest in archaeology. Seeing excavation sites and historical remains offers an educational experience for children.

 

Kizilirmak Delta Bird Sanctuary:

Kizilirmak Delta Bird Sanctuary is one of the largest and best preserved wetlands on the Black Sea coast of Turkey. The Kizilirmak Delta has a great diversity due to the presence of a wide variety of habitats, from beaches to flooded forests, from dunes to reeds, from mud flats to marshes. The Delta is home to 15 of the 24 endangered bird species and
